Can I get an extension to complete my online course?
Students have 90 days to complete their online training from the date of enrollment and will receive periodic email reminders throughout the 90 days.
A final reminder will be sent 5 days from expiration of the initial 90 days. At this time, students may redeem a one-time 30-day extension (must be redeemed within 120 days of enrollment).
Students that have not completed their coursework after the initial 90 days and 30-day extension can apply for a final 60-day extension. This extension must be redeemed within 180 days of initial purchase and is subject to a $50 reinstatement fee (per student/per course). Payment can be made online via credit card only. Coursework will expire after this final 60 days and no further extensions can be granted.
Importance of Finishing On Time
To maximize continuity and retention, Lion online courses are designed to be completed within the allowable time frames. Extending course completion may also make you out of compliance with the DOT, EPA, and/or other training mandates. DOT requires initial training within 90 days of employment and recurrent training is required within three years of your initial training anniversary. EPA requires large quantity generators and TSDFs to repeat hazardous waste training annually.
What do I do if my presentation doesn't start?
This may happen for several reasons:
If you click a lesson and a new window does not appear, a pop-up blocker may be preventing your training from displaying correctly. Please turn off pop-up blockers in your web browser and on any “Toolbars” built into the browser (e.g., Google Toolbar). If you get a blue screen and you can see the Flash logo in the background of the window, then you probably need to clear your browser's cache.
If a new window opens but the presentation screen is blank, your employer may be filtering multimedia files with a firewall or corporate security settings. This is especially common for users connected to the Internet remotely through a proxy server or VPN. Check with your IT/IS staff that Flash and MP3 files are allowed from Lion.com.
If you see a grey exclamation point (!) where your training should appear, your web browser may be operating in a “low memory” environment. Try clearing your browser’s cache to correct this. For help, contact support@Lion.com.
Which online courses include closed captions?
Closed captions have been shown to enhance online learning for all students, including those with hearing loss, workers in loud industrial environments, and non-native English speakers.

We are working to enable closed captions on more Lion online training courses. If you would like this feature added to a specific course, please email info@Lion.com.
Why can't I print my course certificate?
Online training certificates are available when the student completes all course lessons and scores a 70 or higher on the final Certification Quiz.
If you’ve finished all lessons and scored 70 or higher on the final Certification Quiz, but cannot access your Certificate of Achievement, try refreshing the browser window (F5 on your keyboard). Still having trouble? Contact support@Lion.com for help.
Can I access my online training using more than one computer?
You can access your Lion.com online course from anywhere you have a steady Internet connection: at work, home, the library, a coffee shop, etc.
If you plan to switch locations, please log out of your training and close any open presentations. Running training on more than one computer simultaneously will affect the automatic scoring of your online course.
When using a new computer to access your training, remember to use the Test Computer button to ensure all plug-ins are installed and that pop-ups are allowed from Lion.com.
Will training with Lion help me maintain my professional certifications?
Lion offers Continuing Education Units (CEUs), calculated based on training hours, which can be submitted for approval to help you maintain certification from organizations including: AHMP, ABIH, IHMM, NEHA, CCMP, and others
While these groups typically do not pre-approve training programs that offer certification points, professionals can submit Lion CEUs for approval from their certifying organization.
